(In-su is going home. He passes the house next door. A young American boy comes out of the house.)
In-su: Hello. Are you new here?
John: Hello. Yes, I am. We moved in yesterday.
In-su: Oh, I live next door.
John: Really? What's your name?
In-su: In-su. What's your name?
John: John. Glad to meet you.
In-su: Gald to meet you, too. Where are you from, John?
John: I'm from America.
In-su: I thought so. We lived in America for five years. We came back only last year.
John: I see. You speak good English. That's why. How old are you?
In-su: Twelve. And you?
John: I am twelve, too.
In-su: That's great. We can be good friends.
John: Do you have any brothers and sisters?
In-su: Yes, one sister. And you?
John: I have one sister, too.
In-su: What's your sister's name?
John: Mary. What's your sister's name?
In-su: In-suk.
John: How old is she?
In-su: She is ten. How old is yours?
John: She is eight.
In-su: What does your father do?
John: Oh, he is a teacher. And what does your father do?
In-su: He is a doctor.
John: Does your mother work, too?
In-su: Yes, she is a teacher. And yours?
John: Yes, she teaches English.
In-su: That's nice. By the way, are you doing anything now? Shall we go around to our house?
John: All right. Wait a minute, please. I'll go and tell Mother first. (John goes in and comes out again very soon.) It's all right. Let's go.
(They go into in-su's house. In-su's mother comes out with in-suk.)
In-su: Hi, Mum. This is John. He moves in next door yesterday.
Mother: Hi, John.
John: How do you do?
Mother: This is In-suk. Say hello to John, dear.
In-suk: Hi, John.
Mother: I'm going out with In-suk. Give John a drink. Have a good time, you two.
John: Thanks, Mrs. Kim.
(In-su's mother goes out with In-suk.)
In-su: How did you know my mother's name? I did not tell you my surname.
John: Many Koreans have the name :Kim". You call them Mr. or Mrs. Kim, and you are often right.
In-su: That's true.
(They go into In-su's room.)
John: I like your room.
In-su: Thanks.
John: Is that your computer?
In-su: Yes, it is. We can play games on it.

(They play with the computer.)

In-su: It's six o'clock.
