[오늘의 말씀 요약]
마문부터 양문까지 성벽이 재건됩니다. 그러나 예루살렘 성벽 재건이 순탄하지만은 않습니다. 산발랏과 암몬 사람 도비야의 비난이 있기 때문입니다. 느헤미야는 하나님께 기도함으로 이에 대응합니다. 분업과 협력을 통한 성벽 재건이 절반 높이까지 이루어집니다.
☞ 중수하는 일이 마침
28 마문 위로부터는 제사장들이 각각 자기 집과 마주 대한 부분을 중수하였고 29 그 다음은 임멜의 아들 사독이 자기 집과 마주 대한 부분을 중수하였고 그 다음은 동문지기 스가냐의 아들 스마야가 중수하였고
28 Above the Horse Gate, the priests made repairs, each in front of his own house. 29 Next to them, Zadok son of Immer made repairs opposite his house. Next to him, Shemaiah son of Shecaniah, the guard at the East Gate, made repairs.
30 그 다음은 셀레먀의 아들 하나냐와 살랍의 여섯째 아들 하눈이 한 부분을 중수하였고 그 다음은 베레갸의 아들 므술람이 자기 침방과 마주 대한 부분을 중수하였고 31 그 다음은 금장색 말기야가 함밉갓 문과 마주 대한 부분을 중수하여 느디님 사람과 상고들의 집에서부터 성 모퉁이 누에 이르렀고 32 성 모퉁이 누에서 양문까지는 금장색과 상고들이 중수하였느니라
30 Next to him, Hananiah son of Shelemiah, and Hanun, the sixth son of Zalaph, repaired another section. Next to them, Meshullam son of Berekiah made repairs opposite his living quarters. 31 Next to him, Malkijah, one of the goldsmiths, made repairs as far as the house of the temple servants and the merchants, opposite the Inspection Gate, and as far as the room above the corner; 32 and between the room above the corner and the Sheep Gate the goldsmiths and merchants made repairs.
☞ 업신여기고 욕하는 무리
1 산발랏이 우리가 성을 건축한다 함을 듣고 크게 분노하여 유다 사람을 비웃으며 2 자기 형제들과 사마리아 군대 앞에서 말하여 가로되 이 미약한 유다 사람들의 하는 일이 무엇인가, 스스로 견고케 하려는가, 제사를 드리려는가, 하루에 필역하려는가, 소화된 돌을 흙 무더기에서 다시 일으키려는가 하고
1 When Sanballat heard that we were rebuilding the wall, he became angry and was greatly incensed. He ridiculed the Jews, 2 and in the presence of his associates and the army of Samaria, he said, "What are those feeble Jews doing? Will they restore their wall? Will they offer sacrifices? Will they finish in a day? Can they bring the stones back to life from those heaps of rubble--burned as they are?"
3 암몬 사람 도비야는 곁에 섰다가 가로되 저들의 건축하는 성벽은 여우가 올라가도 곧 무너지리라 하더라
3 Tobiah the Ammonite, who was at his side, said, "What they are building--if even a fox climbed up on it, he would break down their wall of stones!"
4 우리 하나님이여 들으시옵소서 우리가 업신여김을 당하나이다 원컨대 저희의 욕하는 것으로 자기의 머리에 돌리사 노략거리가 되어 이방에 사로잡히게 하시고 5 주의 앞에서 그 악을 덮어 두지 마옵시며 그 죄를 도말하지 마옵소서 저희가 건축하는 자 앞에서 주의 노를 격동하였음이니이다 하고
4 Hear us, O our God, for we are despised. Turn their insults back on their own heads. Give them over as plunder in a land of captivity. 5 Do not cover up their guilt or blot out their sins from your sight, for they have thrown insults in the face of the builders.
6 이에 우리가 성을 건축하여 전부가 연락되고 고가 절반에 미쳤으니 이는 백성이 마음 들여 역사하였음이니라
6 So we rebuilt the wall till all of it reached half its height, for the people worked with all their heart.
☞ 묵상 도우미
필역하려는가(2절) ‘그 일을 완성시키겠단 말인가?’라는 뜻의 빈정거림이다.
백성이 마음 들여(6절) 느헤미야와 그의 백성은 흔들리지 않고 하나님이 주신 목적을 따라 계속 일을 추진해 나갔다. |
