Script

Long ago, in Bethlehem, lived a cow.

The cow lived in a stable.  The cow ate from a manger.

The cow's name was Bossie.  She was bossy.

If a donkey tried to eat her hay, she yelled: "Don't you dare eat my hay!!!"

If a mother brought her calf near the manger, she said: "Don't let your calf play in my manger!!!"

If a shepherd wandered by with some sheep, Bossie muttered: "Watch those sheep."  Too bad the shepherd didn't speak cow.

Bossie was BOSSY.

One night, Bossie was on guard.  She was as fierce as a cow could be. Bethlehem was crowded.  Bossie was just waiting for someone to try to intrude on her manger.

Bossie watched and watched and watched and... fell asleep.

When she awoke, there was a man and a young girl in her stable.

The woman had just had a baby...and laid him in Bossie's manger!!!

Bossie was about to tell the woman to "remove your child, thank you very much" when...

...she heard a choir of angels singing...

...and some shepherds came by and shouted: "The Savior is born!" and "There he is, in the manger!" and...

...the other animals could talk like humans tonight!  All of them shouted together: "Bossie! This is Jesus, our hope for peace in the joy of God's love!!!"

"All right, he can stay," said Bossie.
